Music has been good to me; I would like to empower all females to keep pushing their way to achieving personal success.” Songwriter Girl Camp will give you the opportunity to network and meet face-to-face with people who create and work in the industry. You will have the chance to attend unique workshops where you’ll get invaluable information that can help take you to the next level as a writer and writer/performer. You’ll have the chance to collaborate with other attendees and also have the opportunity to work directly with Kirsti. You will make new friends or meet future co-writers of your next big hit! A Songwriter Girl Camp 3 day pass for May 15-17, 2009 is $248 for participants and $75 for observers. This all girl event begins Friday evening and ends late Sunday afternoon. Room accommodations are not included. All observers must be accompanying a participant but not all participants are required to bring an observer. Several fine giveaways will be awarded to camp attendees including a Daisy Rock Candy Electric Guitar, a co-writing session with Kirsti Manna (including a $1000 demo), an 8 day Mexico Getaway trip, song critiques by Nashville publishers, and much more. The first 20 people who sign up and submit a song will have the opportunity to perform at an open mic for everyone in attendance. After the open mic, hang out and get some one-on-one time with an industry pro at "Meet a Mentor!" SATURDAY Participants will have the opportunity to attend workshops about the nuts and bolts of writing, marketing yourself and your music, stage performance troubleshooting, co-writing and more! Information You Will Learn * “Songwriter Survival Tips” (or “How to Survive in the Big Pond when you’re a Little Fish”) * “Making the Perfect Demo” * “The Truth Behind Copyrights”(the importance of protecting copyrights) * “The Nuts and Bolts of Being a Working Songwriter” * “How to Have Fun and Keep Writing When You’re Getting Rejected” * “Becoming a Great Networker” * “OMG Moments!" * "Stage Performance Troubleshooting” * “How to Get Your Songs Out There” * "How to Find Titles and Ideas" * "Producing Successful Demos" * "How Writers and Publishers Get Paid" * "How to Effectively Pitch Your Songs" SATURDAY NIGHT All participants and the general public are invited to the Songwriter Girl Cafe. We will have two writer’s rounds. Five writers from Songwriter Girl Camp will be selected to perform one song in a writers’ round before a panel of industry pro judges. The winning song will receive a fully produced demo. Then we’ll sit back and enjoy a round where our pro writers play their hits and tell the stories behind the songs. SUNDAY The morning will be the chance to have a one-on-one session with Kirsti (you must sign up for this in advance).
