Florida Attorney Thomas K. Equels Wins Ocala Classic Championships

May 5, 2009 - PRLog -- Prominent Florida attorney Thomas K. Equels recently captured both Pleasure and Performance Championships at the Ocala Classic on his three-and-a-half-year-old black Paso Fino stallion, Attila.  Attila was bred and foaled at Equels' farm, Mystic Oaks in Ocala, Fla. Equels and Attila won all of the required preliminary schooling classes for the younger horses and then, in the championship classes, went on to defeat all comers, the winners from other classes and age divisions.  

The competition was judged on equitation, evaluations of both horse and rider, demonstration of all required gaits and dressage maneuvers, conformation of the horse, and the athletic performance of the horse.

"My hat is off to young Attila, he is a true champion,” said Equels. “His athletic talent was surpassed only by his grit and stamina. I have never seen a horse sweep both the pleasure championship and the performance championship in the same day."

In 2008, Equels won the Pleasure Championships at the Miami Winter Invitational on another Mystic Oaks black stallion, Resortissimo. The Paso Fino is a foal of a former Equels’ mare, Eulalia, the Grand Champion Performance mare at the 2001 Spectrum International Show.
