ENVIROVERKS, an Indoor Environmental technology-based Life Sciences company that specializes in combinational chemistry-based technology for Indoor Environmental Maintenance programs, has today announced that the Company has been inundated by enquiries caused by the A (H1N1) flu outbreak. Enquiries have been flowing in from the general public, hospitals as well as healthcare practitioners not only from Malaysia, but also from Singapore, China and India regarding the effectiveness of its solutions as a preventive treatment against the deadly spread of the flu virus. On Sunday, Hong Kong, the epicenter of the SARS outbreak six years ago announced some of the toughest measures in practice anywhere in the world in response to the H1N1 flu outbreak in Mexico and the United States.

ENVIROVERKS, through its wholly owned subsidiary and partner companies is the Asian master distributor and licensee for the Healthy Environmental Living Program (H.E.L.P.) This concept was developed in the United States of America and one of the key features of the H.E.L.P program is the use of BIOSHIELD in the treatment of all kinds of indoor surfaces of buildings and other facilities. BIOSHIELD is a patent pending product which utilizes a unique antimicrobial technology that has been proven to prevent the growth and propagation of mold, fungus, bacteria and viruses.

ENVIROVERKS’ CEO, Mr. Nitesh Malani vouches on the effectiveness of this programme and sees huge potential for a market which is becoming increasingly concerned about dangerous chemicals and pathogens which attach to various surfaces such as walls, furniture, carpets and other Indoor areas. This is even more relevant to those who are at high risk for such exposure or in markets which place a great emphasis on these concerns.

Nitesh Malani today stated, “We are offering our H.E.L.P Program to Private corporations and Government bodies to help them in the battle against the A (H1N1) flu outbreak and believe it will be helpful in controlling this public health threat before it gets out of hand. We believe our product can quickly eradicate and/or eliminate this virus on any Indoor surface and can provide a serious means of defence for controlling this very dangerous virus as well as to prevent cross contamination from occurring.
At the moment, these organisms are mutating at a very alarming rate and it is only a matter of time before a mutated variant of the A (H1N1) flu virus is created which will be extremely difficult to kill using standard disinfecting formulations. This potential scenario is similar to the development of antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria that result from indiscriminate and inappropriate antibiotic use. ENVIROVERKS is looking at implementing its H.E.L.P program to apply BIOSHIELD antimicrobial treatment, in conjunction with other hard and soft surface disinfection to effectively combat this potential epidemic of dangerous pathogens from spreading out of control.”

He also said,” This will also provide an additional level of protection should these dangerous organisms mutate and result in an additional challenge to ordinary barrier protection. This is where we feel that the H.E.L.P program is an extremely effective method of providing that little bit of additional protection for healthcare workers and the general public alike.”

Nitesh Malani added, "This most recent outbreak of the A (H1N1) flu is yet another example of how easy it is for microscopic killers to cross our borders undetected and infect the population in the blink of an eye. Even though no flu cases caused by the A (H1N1) virus have been officially confirmed yet, the Malaysian government has taken no chances and has declared it a public health emergency in order to put the country on high alert.” He concluded, “It is with this in mind that I will offer any governmental or municipal agency complementary consultancy services so that we may be able to offer customized solutions according to their needs and requirements. We strongly believe that the BIOSHIELD formulation together with our comprehensive H.E.L.P. program will be able to be utilized as an effective defensive weapon against the A (H1N1) flu outbreak or any other dangerous microorganism that may be a threat to the people of Malaysia."
