Temahome For The First Time Present At The Most Prestigious Design Fair In The U.S.A.

PR Log (Press Release) – May 04, 2009 – TemaHome (www.temahome.com), reaffirming its brand presence along the North American market, will be present – for the first time – at the ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair), to be held in New York – USA, from the 16th to 19th of May.  The ICFF ranks among the most important and distinguished stages worldwide in which the novelties of Interior Design are first presented to the North American public.
The company will showcase its new “The Lisbon Collection”, which comprises of limited-edition creations by the greatest names in contemporary Portuguese industrial design: Filipe Alarcão, Fernando Brízio, Marco Sousa Santos and Miguel Vieira Baptista.
The collection evokes the Lisbon-based company’s cultural origins, and its native country’s tradition in this field, all during a period in which the city of Lisbon itself has gained remarkable international notoriety due to its eclectic “mélange” of modernity subsisting with the charm of the old and classic.

The Lisbon Collection’s items are produced in limited quantities, numbered and finally signed by its designer. As of now, the collection comprises of: the Handle stools, by Fernando Brízio, the Tavares chair, by Marco Sousa Santos, the Gem tables by Filipe Alarcão and the Furoshiki rug and the Scatola Armonica sideboard, both authored by Miguel Vieira Baptista.

The city of Lisbon was chosen to baptize and promote this collection in which product and fashion design so seamlessly merged. Each of the 5 pieces was photographed by Carlos Ramos at an historical site in downtown Lisbon, and in each photo session the creation of a different Portuguese fashion designer was utilized: Nuno Gama, Ana Salazar, Luis Buchinho, Filipe Faísca and José António Tenente, under the artistic direction of Paulo Gomes.

The outcome of this fusion will be visible in New York, as well as the brand-new catalogues created for 2009: the Essence and Style collections, developed by TemaHome’s in-house team of designers in cooperation with independents, offering complete solutions to the most diverse lifestyles. This year, the company has given special care to composing items using prime materials, such as marble and polished steel.
