The Georgia General Assembly established the Town of Douglasville on February 25, 1875. As a “New South” postbellum railroad town, Douglasville developed into a dominant commercial district and transformed from the little farming village of Skint Chestnut into a thriving town. Today, Douglasville boasts historic and natural attractions, shopping and culture, and casual and formal dining options, which are all the ingredients for a perfect weekend getaway. For more details, contact the Douglasville Convention & Visitors Bureau by calling toll-free (800) 661-0013 or by visiting www.visitdouglasville.com.
