MIAMI, FL, April 25, 2009 /-- For months, the best dentists across the country have been selecting their most difficult cases, internationally-
After months of intense preparations, hundreds of dental care professionals finally met in Miami, the magic city, for an event that is the dental community's equivalent of the Academy Awards.
Top Doc Dr. Misty Brown, owner of the Keller Cosmetic Center in Keller, Texas was honored as an Association Fellow for completion of her advanced clinical training in dental implantology.
“I wouldn’t have missed this for the world!” said Dr. Brown.
Dr. Arun K. Garg, founder of Implant Seminars and President and organizer of the Miami Implant Update, says he felt proud to be hosting the event that is not only benefiting hundreds of dentists across the U.S. (who will step out of the Symposium with a greater understanding of the future of dental implants) but is at the same time, stimulating local economy like no other medical event has done in the past.
Held at the sold-out Coconut Grove Mayfair Hotel, restaurant and shop owners from the Coconut Grove area were excited for the weekend extravaganza and geared up to serve the more than 500 new visitors that were shopping, dining and mingling through this chic Miami area over the weekend.
A majority of the dentists who attended also flew in especially to receive top-tier credentials for their work and continuing education accomplishments from the American Dental Implant Association at a special ceremony on Friday evening, including Dr. Brown.
“I’m overjoyed! My credentials now speak for themselves! And the line-up of speakers is unbelievable!
The Miami Implant Update Symposium, a sold-out event, is a clear example of how the dental community is thriving in this challenging economic time, said Dr. Garg.
"These dentists recognize that this is the perfect time to reinvent themselves and broaden the scope of their practice so they pursued continuing education to get prepared, and as a result, so many other industries are seeing the benefits," said Dr. Garg.
This is the second annual Miami Implant Update Symposium and Dr. Garg said that next year’s is expected to be even bigger, slated to sell out by this summer.
"We'll soon be at the Convention Center!" said Dr. Garg, who, himself a global expert on bone harvesting and grafting, opened the Pre-Symposium tomorrow with an intense course on maxillary sinus grafting techniques.
