New York, NY, -- Well-known New York CEO, Catherine Palmiere, held her first book signing at the prestigious Grace Institute in Manhattan (http://www.graceinstitute.org). With over 200 attending, the event was an amazing success. A Certified Career Coach, Ms. Palmiere is also the President of Adam Personnel, Inc., Adam Temporary Services, Inc. and Owner of Palmiere Career Services (http://www.palmierecareerservices.com). In addition, Ms. Palmiere is on the adjunct teaching staff at Grace Institute where she teaches office policies and practices.

With almost thirty years in the staffing world, this is Ms. Palmiere’s first published book. Together with her co-author, Patrick O'Halloran (a professor at the School of Hospitality Management in New York City’s College of Technology), Ms. Palmiere hopes that her book will unlock doors, create great job choices, and inspire men and women of all ages and backgrounds to seek exciting career paths.

“Unlocking the Door to Your Career - Guidelines to Finding the Perfect Job and Taking Charge of Your Life,” (http://www.adampersonnel.com/unlockingthedoor.html) is not like other books. This affordable, soft-cover workbook, published by Pearson Publishing, covers everything from self-assessment and cover letters to how to answer that all important (and impossible) question, “Where do you see yourself in five years.” The Self-Assessment chapter is especially enlightening, and covers much more than you might expect:

“Your ability and competence in eight areas of workplace skills can be evaluated using the reflective self-assessment exercise. The skill set is as follows: human relations, personal effectiveness, communication, leadership, supervision, strategic thinking, planning and computer skills.”

“Resume Writing” offers thirteen essential points and includes EIGHT full-length examples to help candidates grasp this vital part of any job search. Probably the MOST important part of this book, however, is the “Job Search” chapter. This literally lays out a plan for nine very real avenues to a job.

Ms. Palmiere has devoted her career to the hundreds of corporations and thousands of applicants she serves. Every day she coaches candidates and students alike to through mock interviews and useful exercises in self discovery to help them create a path of possibilities to that once-in-a-lifetime job.

In addition to this book, Catherine Palmiere is also a sought after corporate consultant and speaker and has been featured as an industry expert on Cable NY1, and AMNY.com. She is a member of the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches, the Society for Human Resource Management, and Career Directors International.
