AFTER-GIVEAWAY SALE: St. Anthony's Bridal has gowns left over from its CIAO BELLA prom gown giveaway on April 19th 2009 at the Silver Spring Hilton and will be selling them on Saturday May 9th 2009 at St. John's Evagelical Lutheran Church at 5820 Riverdale Road, Riverdale MD from 9 am to 2 pm. $25 per dress. All proceeds benefit next year's CIAO BELLA Prom Gown Giveaway and St. Anthony's Bridal. St. Anthony's Bridal is a local bridal non-profit offering free use of wedding gown, veil, and reception items to brides in need of help. The requirements are easy: If a bride is having a small wedding on a small budget and borrowing or buying a gown from St. Anthony's, then she qualifies. Gowns may be borrowed for free or puchased for $200 at the discretion of the bride. What is small? $5,000 or less budget and 100 or fewer guests. So far, St. Anthony's has helped over 80 brides. No fee is charged; there is a $200 refundable deposit. Brides who don't qualify may still get help through the WAITLIST. But brides using wedding planners do not qualify for any help. Donations of wedding gowns, prom and bridesmaids gowns, money and reception goods are gratefully accepted and volunteers are needed. A volunteer accountant is being actively sought. Thanks! Members of the public are also welcome to buy wedding gowns for $200 or bridesmaids gowns for $50 each. We carry any and all makes and designers. The proceeds from these sales help St. Anthony's defray its operating costs including rent. St. Anthony's has no paid employees and operates on a volunteer staff. St. Anthony's has no public grant money. St. Anthony's is located at 4920 Wyaconda Road, Bethesda, Maryland 20852 and is open on most Saturdays from ten to noon.
