WITV- West Indian Culture
WITV (West Indian Television) is all set for Season Two of its on-line culturally unparalleled show, Caribbean Cultural Riddums. The show which airs every Thursday night at 8pm on the www.westindianculture.com features local and regional cultural acts in a relaxed atmosphere. Season one took a in-depth look into the lives of cultural icons, amongst them, mas men Stephen Derek, Trevor Wallace and Glen Carvalho; wire bender Andrew “Rollo” Alexander; calypsonians Contender, All Rounder, Trinidad Rio, Funny alongside Honey, Luta and Versatile. In each feature, viewers were able to get up close and personal as they were taken on a journey through the lives of these men and their contributions to the culture of the region.
Even new and up-coming contemporary acts as comedian Myron B; Indie/Alternative rock band Enlibra and Witch of the Bell Tower, who fused deep haunting vocals with guitars and performed live onset. Musical genius, Dawud Orr, Reggae musicians Selah I, Ras Pilot and Fyah Marshall from Bermuda were some of the other guest on first season’s show. Hip-hop music was also represented by Chromatics and WITV became part of history when local reggae star Zion Child became the first local entertainer to premiere his video online.

WITV plans to flood the major markets with premium entertainment and cultural shows with hope that it finds root in the lucrative and fertile plains of on-line programming and digital information transfers. The worlds is now fixated on streaming videos and video clips, file sharing and internet album sales. Season Two is expected to raise the bar even higher with better quality production, a wider range of talent and deep and thorough research of our diverse culture.
