Bormioli Rocco Single-dose Systems: Barrier Effect Increased By 45%

PR Log (Press Release) – Apr 30, 2009 – Bormioli Rocco has chosen Vitafoods International as the backdrop for revealing the solution to a problem that has frustrated manufacturers and institutions alike in recent months: improving the safety of single-dose systems by protecting them from the ingress of moisture, which causes powdered content to cake and reduces its effectiveness.

At the Geneva-based exhibition, the international flagship event for the nutraceutical industry, the Plastics Division is presenting a single-dose system which guarantees a 40-45% improvement in moisture barrier properties, in addition to improved oxygen barrier performance. These breakthrough results have been certified by tests and analyses performed by experts at CSI, a specialist laboratory for product certification and quality assurance, in accordance with the ASTM E96/E96M-05 standard test method.
Furthermore, the materials used comply with European Pharmacopoeia specifications.

In addition to its extremely high barrier performance, this pack requires no modifications to existing filling lines, an advantage for manufacturers who do not have to invest resources in additional plant or machinery.
