The beautiful Times Center in New York City once again played host to the annual Minardi Beauty Focus. Minardi Beauty Focus is a daylong event that draws the country’s top salon owners, colorists and stylists to be educated by haircolor and style icons Beth and Carmine Minardi, owners of the world renowned Minardi Salon in New York City.
Attendees observed the Minardi's signature approaches to all types of haircolor situations, witnessed haircutting and texturizing demonstrations using models who reminded the audience of the types of clients who sit in their chairs every day. The attendees watched, listened and took part in an incredible interactive learning environment that had the crowd energized. Carmine Minardi explained to the crowd all of the benefits of perfect lighting in a salon that was also energy efficient “green” and invited everybody in attendance to take a look at the Minardi Color Perfect Lighting.

Everyone who stopped by to look at the lighting was awed by the perfect color and brilliance of the lighting and how natural it made hair look. The colorists and stylists who sat in the station chair were, in addition to finally seeing hair under correct lighting, amazed by the fact that the lights did not create any heat.
Salon owners were thrilled at the energy savings they could benefit from by installing Minardi Color Perfect Lighting as well as the fact that they are simple to install and can, in most cases, be used in the very same tracks that salons currently utilize. The fact that bulbs would not have to be changed for years at a time did not go unnoticed to the owners who find themselves climbing up ladders every few weeks to change bulbs in their current lighting.
Minardi Color Perfect lighting is comprised of three different fixtures each of which has a specific function for a salon. Salons can greatly benefit from using one or all three of the lights. The mirror light, which uses under 10 watts of power, is essential because it eliminates circles under the eyes while adding a warm glow to the skin and an overall healthy look to the complexion warmth to the skin. This is the light the client sees as they are sitting in the chair. The ambient light provides general lighting for the salon. It has been designed to direct light up to the ceiling spreading an even canopy of bright light while simultaneously showering the salon with a soothing downlight. This 70 watt fixture produces more light that a similar 300 watt halogen light fixture while significantly reducing heat and energy. Salons using fluorescent lighting, that struggle with the shadows and poor color quality that fluorescents are known for, will welcome the brilliance and tone that is emitted by the ambient light.
