PRLog -- Just Us Women Productions, LLC and Heritage Fountain will be offering a free one day childbirth intensive Saturday, June 7 from 10:00am to 4:30pm. This class is sponsored by a community grant from the March of Dimes to educate women about prematurity awareness and the importance of giving every baby its 9 months. This class is open to all women regardless of their due date. Early education is one step in avoiding preterm birth. This includes the importance of proper nutrition and exercise. High levels of stress also increase a woman’s risk for preterm labor and birth. Babies born early and too small have increased risks for health problems during the newborn period, long-term disabilities and even death. This weekend course will offer women a chance to learn and be heard. It's open to women and their support person and provides information on managing stress, having a healthy pregnancy and preparing for your big PUSH. Using the March of Dimes curriculum “The Pregnancy Workshop” as its foundation, classes will combine mindful breathing, relaxation techniques, group discussion, article review and videos/DVD's.
