The Springboard Leadership Academy is offering a half-day event on why now is the perfect time for companies to encourage employees to be internal entrepreneurs or ‘intrapreneurs’
‘Think Tank or Sink Tank? Is your company embracing intrapreneurship?’
The basic definition of intrapreneurship defines a practice that allows individuals to act like entrepreneurs - identifying tangible profit-making opportunities – but enables them to develop those ideas within the company they work for, thus having support and resources behind them and avoiding the risks associated with going it alone.
Event host and MD, Springboard Leadership Forum, Soraya Shaw:
“Companies recognised for their innovative approach such as Apple, Microsoft and Google have been practising this way of working for some time, yet the principles of intrapreneurship can be applied within many different types and sizes of organisations with fantastic results.
It is about working creatively with internal talent to grow your business. Giving employees the chance to have a real input into the way a business develops also contributes positively to staff morale, confidence and retention.
As companies look even harder to develop a competitive edge with less money and fewer resources, fostering intrapreneurship can really set them apart.”
The session will look at what intrapreneurship is and why it’s not just another bit of business terminology or ‘jargon’. It will cover how and why it works, in what environments it is likely to produce the best results and how to apply it effectively in a practical way.
Feedback from the event will also provide input for the Springboard Leadership Academy ‘think tank’ and contribute to future research on intrapreneurship and thought leadership.
