Swiss band DEEP TRIP will hit the UK between 19th & 27th May 2009, playing three dates in London and one in Reading, Brighton, Liverpool & Nottinghamshire, for what promises to be an unforgettable and unconventional cocktail of two contrasting musical styles.
Deep Trip are on one hand arguably, an intense grunge metal band from Europe, that some might aliken to early 90’s rock such as Nirvana but on the other hand they have successfully blended their heavy rock guitar with classical string instrumentation, including cello, double bass and violin, and they deliver it in such an energetic and enthusiastic way, that even those with the more subtle musical tastes will stand up and listen.
These guys are no sweet Swiss chocolate and while they will dish up one or two acoustic melodies throughout their set, they will also surprise their unsuspecting UK audience with an unusual serving of "chilli with chocolate”.
Alikened by others to Italian alternative/
Deep Trip’s new 15-track album contains some promising tracks, most notably Carry On, Masters of the Earth, Hate and My Son but weirdly contains two “Intro” tracks, ie Track-1 as you would expect but the other one being Track 6. Some of the other material is just average and I felt that vocal arrangements could have been written to be little less predictable, given that Claudio is the only vocalist but to get a feel for what this band is really about though, you must see them live.
