A unique range of sea cruises to golf courses on the UK’s West Coast is on offer on board a mega yacht now sailing out of the historic harbour of Bristol city.
The 12 berth Harmony II – a 189 ft long classic, steel built motor yacht dating from 1954 – has been refitted to provide first class floating accommodation and is available for golfing parties to hire to take them in style to some of the best courses in the country.
Golfers can sail across the Bristol Channel to play on the Ryder Cup course at Celtic Manor and Harmony II is also available for chartering during the Ryder Cup in 2010 to provide a unique golf-themed break. Within easy sailing distance are the stunning courses at the Royal Porthcawl, Tenby Links and The Belfry.
Harmony II can be hired by golfing parties of up to 12 people from around £200 per person per day.
The Harmony Yacht Club is run by Master Mariner Martin Greenslade, who said: “We believe we are offering the ultimate in luxury travel and accommodation to golf courses or tournaments - the chance to watch the professionals or play the courses yourself.
“There is nothing similar available anywhere in the UK – it is a totally unique experience that we are sure will be a big hit with golf and sporting enthusiasts throughout the country.
“Where else is there a luxury mega yacht available to hire and cruise to anywhere on the West Coast of the UK to then moor up and be chauffeur driven to a world class golf course.
“The accommodation on board rivals any that could be found at hotels at any of the destinations we are planning to visit – and is far better than some venues can offer. Ours is fully mobile, first class luxury.”
Harmony II is available for hire to cruise to courses at the Celtic Manor, which hosts the 2010 Ryder Cup and the K Club. The yacht will also offer charters to The Irish Golf Open in Drogheda, The Wales Open at Celtic Manor, The Open at Turnberry, and The Seniors Open at Porthcawl, South Wales.
As well as the exclusive golf cruises, Harmony II is also available for charter for the first Ashes Test to be held in Sofia Gardens, Cardiff, this summer.
Harmony II has been fully restored to provide ultra luxurious accommodation and will operate its golf charters and cruises out of Bristol where she is now moored overlooking the Brunel’s masterpiece steam ship, the ss Great Britain. When in Bristol harbour Harmony II is available for corporate events and private functions.
She provides a floating home-from-home experience in unpretentious style and luxury – complete with sumptuous suites, piano lounge, on-deck Jacuzzi and cinema.
The Harmony II is owned by East Anglia brothers Alan and Martin Pedley of Pedley International Furniture, Saffron Walden, Essex, who bought her when they first saw her in Liverpool in 2001.
