April 29, 2009 - PRLog -- AUSTIN, TX. –MAKE IT FIT™, an online fitness resource, and Texas Round-Up, an independent not-for-profit organization working to improve the health of Texans, are helping all residents afford to “fit” fitness into their lives this year. The duo is kicking off their new partnership in May with “Make Texas Fit Month”. In addition to various free resources posted to the Texas Round-Up website, MAKE IT FIT™ is offering all Lonestar residents an annual membership to www.youcanmakeitfit.com for only 99 cents a month if they sign up on “Make Texas Fit Day” Friday May 1, 2009 during the hours of 6am to midnight CDT. Starting on May 2nd, all Texas Round-Up members who miss the 99 cent deal can sign up for a membership to MAKE IT FIT™ for only $4.95/month or $49/year.

Through this ongoing partnership, Texas Round-Up participants will have access to free interactive fitness tools available directly from the Texas Round-Up website at www.texasroundup.org, including weekly exercise demos, fitness tips, printable workouts and short video workout clips. Residents eager to gain complete access to all of the streaming and downloadable workouts can sign up for the discounted memberships to MAKE IT FIT™. They will immediately have access to a large library of streaming fitness videos, fitness podcasts, and printable workouts, along with other weight management tools such as nutrition information and diet plans. These tools provide the user with an excellent opportunity to exercise at home, in the office, or on the road, all on their own schedule, with experienced fitness professionals to guide and motivate them.

“A membership to MAKE IT FIT™ is normally priced at $14.95 per month,” said Principal Stacy Bick.  “That is significantly less than a gym membership, but still out of reach for some people who are eliminating the cost of exercise as a way of tightening their belts. Through the “Make Texas Fit Day” and “Make Texas Fit Month” initiatives we hope to help thousands of residents fit fitness into their monthly budgets at such a minimal cost.”

“For over five years, Texas Round-Up has been challenging all Texans to get at least 30 minutes of exercise, five days a week,” said Meredith Garcia, Executive Director for Texas Round-Up. “We are excited to provide some of the professional workout plans from MAKE IT FIT™ to our participants at no cost and bring more fitness and wellness resources to all Texans. Finding time to exercise regularly is a challenge for many of us, and having 24/7 access to a website with tips and workouts that offer the flexibility to exercise virtually anywhere—on our own schedule—is a great benefit to our users.”

In 2004, Governor Rick Perry launched the Texas Round-Up statewide fitness initiative and 10K race to motivate and encourage Texans to become more active and to incorporate healthy choices in their daily lives. Today, Texas Round-Up is an independent not-for-profit organization working to improve the health of Texas through education and promotion of physical activity and healthy living. Texas Round-Up provides Texans with tools, opportunities, and programs that encourage and allow for Texans of all ages and fitness levels to participate.

By joining MAKE IT FIT™, residents will find a wide variety of streaming and downloadable workouts including strength training, cardio, abs, mind-body, pre- and post-natal programs, office exercises and more. Members will also find ways to get their families active and to stay fit while traveling. These include kids’ programs, classes designed to be done in a hotel room and podcasts for “on the go” workouts. There are classes and workouts suited for all fitness levels, including currently sedentary or very overweight individuals. Later this year, MAKE IT FIT™ will add a structured Beginner’s Program that will guide those people new to exercise through a several-month progression designed to help them gradually add more activity into their lives in a way that is suitable for their fitness level.
