As summer approaches it is amazing to witness the entire region come into full bloom. This June brings a new and exciting addition to LBI landscape, as Paragon Art Events, the promoter of such prestigious national art shows such as the East Hampton, Montauk and Cape Cod Art Festivals, will be holding their only New Jersey show in Ethel Jacobson Field in Ship Bottom on June 13-14, 2009. This is a free event that will include thousands of world class works in clay, fiber, wood, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, painting, photography and sculpture as well as an opportunity to meet over one hundred of the nation’s top artists.
To capture the spirit of the festival, June 10-12 will provide local restaurants the opportunity to share their artistic flair. Southern Ocean County Chamber member restaurants who would like to create a three course prix fixe menu in addition to their regular offerings will be listed on the chamber website and promoted as part of Art and Leisure Weekend festivities. The price of the meal can range from $20 to $35 and will serve as the restaurant’s tribute to art and artists. Special cards will be presented to the guests dining during the preview that will feature a $4.00 off coupon for Surf Light Theatre’s 2009 Main Stage performances and for the LBIF and ReClam the Bay Eco Tour. Restaurants who plan to be part of the three day preview are Sea Oaks, 217 East Main Restaurant, Black Whale, Bistro 14, Panzone’s, Cafe Bacio,Daddy O, and Plantation. The chamber has reached out to local florists to add their interpretative style and design to the participating restaurants as well.
