Andrew Fu is doing what most people dream of. In an era where people are struggling to keep their jobs, 25 year old Fu quit his software engineering job to explore the country.
After leaving his job two months ago, the Milpitas, CA native sold all his possessions and set out across America to live one day at a time. He lives out of his car and goes wherever the road takes him, never knowing what he will eat or how he will shower. His goal is to discover the American frontiers by exploring the diverse cultures and environments offered in America, according to his website www.whereisthefu.com.
'There is never a good time to go,' says Fu. 'You will always give yourself excuses of why it's better to hold off. But if you don't take that risk, you will never know what could have happened.'
In the short time that he has been traveling, he has already gained a lifetime of experiences. In California, Andrew climbed the highest sand dune in Death Valley. While in Colorado, Andrew worked as a farmer. Last week brought him to a homeless shelter in Kansas to escape the fierce storm.
When asked why he started this trip, his answer is simple: 'I want to live out all of my dreams. I hope that my journey inspires others to follow their dreams.'
