Frankie Valli’s singing career began in 1951 when his original vocal group was formed with Nickie DeVito, Tommy DeVito and Nick Macioci.  Unfortunately, the small group only lasted 2 years until they went their separate ways.  Shortly after the break-up Frankie cut his first single titled “My Mother’s Eyes.”

After the single was released, Frankie and Tommy DeVito united and formed the group ‘The Variations.’  Throughout the next few years, the group shuffled through band members until they eventually became known as ‘The Four Seasons.’  Frankie was the lead singer of the group and in 1962 they had two number one hits, “Sherry” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” Frankie Valli’s group was such a tremendous success, that they were one of the only American groups to remain on top during the reign of the Beatles.

Later in the 1960’s, a new trend was discovered for creating solo albums that were separate from a band.  Frankie Valli became the original artists to record “The Sunshine Ain’t Gonna Shine,” which was later copied by another group and became a huge success.  One of Valli’s most famous solo hits was “Can’t Take My Off Of You.”  Even thought this song was only ranked number two at the time, it continued to be recorded by many future artists.  

Frankie Valli continued his career in the 1970’s and came out with “Walk Like A man,” “Rag Doll” and the theme song to the film ‘Grease’ which were all number one hits.  Throughout the past few decades, Frankie Valli has made many celebrity appearances on both stage and screen.  Some of his popular roles have been on Full House, Miami Vice and most recently The Sopranos.
