ERG International joins U.S. Green Building Council!

In an effort to maintain its “Green Manufacturing” status, ERG International has partnered as a member with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) to make their products available for LEED Project Points.

Every day valued customers are asking what LEED credits are available for ERG products. Well, now all products manufactured by ERG can earn LEED points/credits! This is exciting news because their efforts to manufacture products that are “Green” have paid off.

The state of California has mandated that all materials, components and manufacturing processes must meet strict CARB (California Air Resources Board, division of Environmental Protection Agency) regulations. ERG has complied with CARB and others to lead the way in Green Manufacturing processes. California will lead the way for the nation and the world to comply with “no urea added formaldehyde” wood products.

Table top core material (particleboard) used in ERG’s manufacturing will be the environmentally preferred product to use. The Skyblend® core material used in ERG’s manufacturing, has NO Added Urea Formaldehyde and will contribute to LEED points. Jan. 1, 2009 CARB will mandate all particle board to be Phase 1 compliant.

Since 1995, ERG has successfully used ONLY water-based and water-soluble wood stains, sealers, lacquers, glues and adhesives. 98% of all wood used in the making of their furniture is from sustainably managed and certifiable forest.
