FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Apr 27, 2009 – Life Safety Services (LSS), the National leader in fire and smoke damper inspection services and repair, recently released a white paper titled “Fire and Smoke Damper Inspections” which details the importance of having damper inspections completed and the process that is followed to maintain a building’s compliance with the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) Life Safety Code. This research paper can be found under the “White Paper” section of the Buyer’s Guide on www.nfpa.org.

The paper, which is LSS’ first white paper to be published, speaks specifically about how the Fire and Smoke Damper Inspection codes are often not enforced by Regulatory Agencies as stringently as they should be.  “It’s our responsibility, as Building Owners, Facility Managers and Fire Code Inspectors, to keep our buildings safe, “said Craig Rutledge, owner of Life Safety Services. “As we become better acquainted with Facility Managers in different industries, such as Property Management and College Campuses, the more we are learning that the damper inspections are not being completed. These buildings are not in compliance with NFPA 90A, NFPA 80 or NFPA 105 and are at risk for a potentially devastating loss from fire”, said Rutledge.

Life Safety Services also documents the process that is involved in completing the inspections and details the importance of finding a trustworthy contractor to complete the inspection.  “Building Owners realize that Fire Safety is too important to rely on companies that are not experts in the specific aspect of the code at hand. LSS is the leaders in the industry and has specifically dedicated their experience to Fire and Smoke Damper Inspections, which allows us to offer our clients the best service in the business”, said Rutledge.  The White Paper also notes the importance of acquiring references and reviewing the chosen contractor’s Statement of Qualifications to ensure that they are the right company for the job.

In 2004 Craig Rutledge and Jack Meredith saw an opportunity to put their expertise in the fire and smoke damper inspection business to work by forming Life Safety Services (LSS). By specializing in fire and smoke damper inspections, LSS provides inspection services to facilities at an affordable price.  Life Safety Services is has become one of the top fire and smoke damper inspection companies by providing outstanding customer service and maintaining a staff of highly trained project managers and technicians.
