From Here Down
The five piece band From Here Down - from Merrimack, New Hampshire - have shown promising results in the 2009 Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands Contest to play Warped Tour in Boston. After joining the contest a month late, expectations were not very high(and rightfully so, this effectively cut out 30% of the competition time). The contest is scored on two main factors - votes and "buzz factor". However, the site chooses not to display the vote counter, leaving the "buzz factor" as one of the only indicators for a band to gauge their standing in the contest. In its first week of buzz rating eligibility, From Here Down is achieving a buzz rating of 39.54 [it is important to note: out of the close to 4000 bands in the contest, only a fraction even achieve a buzz rating]. This is largely due to the initial success of their new single 'Words Only Go So Far.' The new single, along with a stronger marketing presence, has increased myspace traffic so dramatically that From Here Down is now the number one unsigned artist in NH.
