FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PR Log (Press Release) –
Apr 26, 2009 – Dee Dee Trotter USA Champion 400m,World & Olympic Champion 4 x 400 appearance at the 5th Annual Robert S. Shumake Scholarship Relays in my mind was golden, not only was this the 5th Annual Shumake Scholarship Relays it was also the 40th anniversary of Olympic gold medal champion Bob Beamon's smashing the Olympic long jump record at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City and he would be here too.
On this day the sun was shining brightly, the wind was blowing mightily and the clouds threaten with rain sadly but the games continued through out the day. But by 2:30pm the mighty clouds could not take the powerful breath of the wind and burst showering down on the event. With the lighting and rain the alarm to seek shelter was sounded and from my vantage point front and center I witnessed one of the most powerful displays of teamwork and communication by Robert S. Shumake and his team of volunteers as complete order was maintained as the event participants sought cover in the high school as one team. From volunteers that help protect the precious metals at the medals table, the Wayne County Sheriff's dept, Mason and company paying song with rain in them everyone reacted beautifully. As I continued to monitor the weather from the the center point of where the athletes enter the track the announcement came that if no more lighting appeared for 15 minute the meet would resume and five minutes later Dee Dee Trotter appeared before me on the other side of the fence on the track as if she was preparing to compete in the Olympics and nothing not even the weather would stop her, but as I watched her I realized that Dee Dee was warming herself and track up to restart the meet. For the next five minutes I watched as the clouds continued to be blown away and as the sun shined on her Olympic gold medal it appeared that the track was drying before my eyes as Dee Dee started warming-up the athletes and track again showing that nothing would stop this great event the 5th Annual Robert S. Shumake Scholarship relays as she stretched out her arms in victory blessing the track smiling my way before trotting off. After going full circle warming up the track and athletes Dee Dee Trotter stops right next to me as she shared what it takes to be an Olympic champion with the young athletes and before I knew it we were reflecting the rays of the sun on the event her with her gold medal and me with my gold coin keeping it gold baby she knew that I was a gold expert. This being one of many golden acts by all of the volunteers as the games continued. Later I met Robert S. Shumake, Mason and Dee Dee at the autograph table where the joy of the event could be seen on everyone's face as the games continued as the silver eagle soared. With the 5th Annual Robert S. Shumake Scholarship Relays shining bright as Gold. http://minesgold.com # # # Never the Money is in the business of spreading the word that paper is never the money.
