A Habit of Excellence: Dr. Kessler Listed in “Top Doctors: New York Metro Area” Guide

Kessler, MD, F.A.C.S., chief of plastic surgery at South Nassau Communities Hospital, has been named to the 12th edition of Top Doctors: New York Metro Area guide.  Dr. Kessler has been included in each edition of the prestigious guide, which was published for the first time in 1998.

Published by Castle Connolly Ltd., the acclaimed guide spotlights the top 10 percent of primary specialty care physicians in the tri-state New York area.  The physicians listed in the guide specialize in more than 65 medical specialties and subspecialties for the care and treatment of more than 2,100 diseases and medical conditions.  All doctors listed in Castle Connolly’s “top doctors” series of guides are selected after peer nomination, extensive research and careful review and screening.

Dr. Kessler specializes in all aspects of aesthetic, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery.  This includes breast augmentation (breast Implant), facelift (rhytidectomy), tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), nose shaping (rhinoplasty), liposuction, facial rejuvenation, body contouring and surgery of the hand.  He also has extensive plastic surgery experience treating patients who have lost significant weight.

Dr. Kessler is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and maintains certification from The Board of Plastic Surgery with a Certificate of Added Qualification in surgery of the hand.  He has also completed fellowships in hand surgery and reconstructive microsurgery at The Cleveland Clinic and The University of Louisville Health Center, respectively.

In addition to serving as chief of plastic surgery at South Nassau Communities Hospital, Dr. Kessler is an associate clinical professor of plastic surgery at The Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.  Co-founder of The Plastic Surgery Group PC, which has offices in Great Neck and Rockville Centre New York, he has authored numerous scientific papers, including book chapters, and has presented at national and international conferences.

Dr. Kessler received his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from The City University of New York and earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, where he was elected the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.  He completed his plastic surgery training at The New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center and at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
