Southsea, UK. On May 3rd, put on your walking shoes: join the 4th Annual Walk the Talk/Walk the Walk, a fundraising walkathon in Southsea, England, to benefit Girlstown, a home for girls in Chennai, India. Visit http://TripuraFoundation.org
This year’s walk is organized by Maria Lyons (Kanchanni), a long time friend and supporter of Tripura Foundation. Once again, for the fourth year in a row, Kanchanni will put on her walking shoes and Walk the Talk/Walk the Walk in aid of Girlstown. Maria has rallied her friends, family and co-workers to join her in the 10 mile sponsored walk in her town of Southsea, England.
Maria was inspired by her many trips to India and meeting and becoming fast friends with the girls in person. When she saw the phenomenal results of Tripura Foundation’s holistic residential program, she knew she wanted to help. Please help Maria support this beautiful community home on the other side of the world that loves and cares, with heart and soul, for these girls.
So far, Maria’s prior walkathons have purchased two new computers and financed computer training for all of the girls. Last year’s £2000 ($4000 US) went towards the building fund for the proposed new Girlstown facility. This year Maria has her heart set on an even bigger contribution.
It costs £29 ($60 US) each day to feed the girls their three meals and nutritious snacks. How many days will be covered by the Southsea walk? You can help realize Maria’s big dream, put a smile on the girls’ faces and a glow in their bellies by sponsoring Maria on the walk.
