The Spanish property experts Spanish Hot Properties believes that UK citizens are missing out on fantastic opportunities whilst other nationalities such as the Scandinavian Countries and the Benelux countries are snapping up the incredible offers that are currently available in the Spanish Property Market. Spanish Hot Properties have seen a 1000% increase in enquires since February with a lot of interest from UK Citizens but in reality it is only the UK investor groups that have the funds available who are actually buying at any great level. Spanish Hot Properties Managing Director Nick Stuart believes the Euro is still the major obstacle that is UK people buying, “We’ve seen a lot of interest but there are even more Irish people buying than British people at the present time and the real sales are being bought by other European Citizens some who have the Euro and some who don’t but with bargains such as a €1.2m Villa in Marbella going for €650,000, a €20m luxury Villa on the beach of the Golden mile available at €12m, a detached house in the middle of Barcelona going for €280,000, frontline beach properties in Murcia for under €200,000 and 2 bedroom apartments in Calahonda for under €140,000 its not difficult to see why buyers are seeing the opportunities and agreeing with us that 2009 is very much the time to buy in Spain. The exception to this is the UK citizens who are moving over here to live full time who have just had enough of the UK” said Nick
So it will be interesting to see how many UK citizens start to take advantage of the Spanish Property bargains and how many still decide to sit and wait. Only time will tell who was right and who was wrong
