Having won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for his critically acclaimed role in the 1998 film, Ulee’s Gold, the prolific actor is also known for his tenacious talent and roles such as Wyatt in the 1968 film Easy Rider, for which he gained critical fame and more recently, the role of Byron McElroy in the 2007 remake of the 1957 film, 3:10 to Yuma.

This legendary figure is in Singapore in support of the 22nd Singapore International Film Festival and was the Guest-of-Honour for the Silver Screen Awards. Peter Fonda presented the Best Film Award for the inaugural Singapore Film Awards, a new awards segment that had been launched to recognise excellence in local filmmaking. The ceremony took place at 1900hrs on 24th April at Singapore’s Filmgarde Cineplex, Iluma.
