Roy Carroll won a Premier League winners medal in 2002-03 with Manchester United. After starting his career with Hull City FC, the Irishman moved to Wigan Athletic FC before his 4-year stay at Old Trafford.
It was at West Ham United FC that disaster struck when during a game with Fulham FC he sustained an injury to his back that resulted in him eventually undergoing spinal surgery.
During Roy’s rehabilitation he noticed that he had lost most of the power in his gluts and that his ability to kick the ball long distances had diminished. Even though he had been given the all clear by his surgeon and was receiving regular treatment from the West Ham medical team he seemed to be making no progress.
Luckily for Roy his agent Fran Martin, a close friend of Sir Alex Ferguson’s son Jason Ferguson, referred him to the respected Sports Chiropractor David Cosgrave.
Sports Chiropractor David Cosgrave who has worked with Liverpool FC, Bolton Wanderers FC and Tottenham Football FC quickly diagnosed the problem and set about improving the spinal biomechanics and facilitating the inhibited muscles that were causing the weakness.
Roy soon recovered and was back playing for West Ham before eventually moving to Rangers FC and his present club Derby County FC.
