The China’s CDN Leader -- Beijing Fastweb Technology Co., Ltd. (Beijing Fastweb) today announced a strategic alliance with Chengdu University of Information Technology (CUIT) for joint development, technology sharing, and off-campus student practice training, etc.

Both parties realize that there are abundant talents and rich technologies within the universities. The question is to how to get the technologies out and apply in the industry. The strategic alliance is the first step.

Edward (Zaide) Liu, CEO of Beijing Fastweb Technology and Professor Fengrong Jing, vice president of CUIT signed the agreement at Beijing Meidiya Hotel. Under the agreement, Beijing Fastweb will provide student training center including computer and network equipments, provide industrial research project, and guide student practice. Beijing Fastweb will take CUIT student graduates as its first choice if all other qualifications are the same. And on CUIT side, it will take research projects of Beijing Fastweb as first choice for research and prototype.

Edward Liu said: “As a graduate of CUIT, I learnt a lot there. The school has gave me a great deal. Now it is time for me as business leader to give something back to the school. I hope our cooperation will greatly help the school to improve student quality to meet industrial requirements, to strength school research capability, and to get our school moiré connected with real world.”

Established in 1951, CUIT was originated from the Chengdu Meteorological Cadre Training Center, which was created by the Air Force Headquarters of PLA Southwest Military Area Command. After half a century of reform and change, it became the current information technological university with over 30,000 students. The university is “National Software Industrial Base (Chengdu) Talent Training Center” recognized by Ministry of Industry and Information Industry, “Information Engineering Undergraduate Talent Training Base in Sichuan Province”, Meteorological Cadre Training Unit of China Meteorological Administration, and Statistics Cadre Training Base of National Bureau of Statistics of China.
