Interest in Hydrogen Injection and HHO Increasing Despite Faltering Economy

Hydrogen injection or HHO as it is known to enthusiasts is not a new idea but rapidly gained popularity in 2008 as high fuel prices caused many drivers to seek ways of easing the pain at the pump.

In its most basic form, hydrogen injection consists of a container where an electric current is passed through an array of plates submerged in water. The electric current splits the Hydrogen and Oxygen molecules from the water and generates a combustible gas which is then fed into a vehicle’s engine, mixed with fuel and ignited. The result is a faster burning flame inside the engine’s cylinders which combusts more of the petroleum fuel and leads to decreased exhaust emissions.

Todd Stevens, general manager of BurnHydrox.com, states that through an informal survey of their customers starting in January 2009, most believe that high fuel prices will return and surpass their previous record levels. Says Stevens, “While we experienced a corresponding drop in traffic on our website when fuel prices started falling in late 2008, we have also seen a dramatic increase in sales during the same time period. Not only have our website sales increased, our online auction sales are up as well.” Stevens adds “In talking with our customers, most feel that they need to act now and do what they can to make their vehicles more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly before the next round of high gas prices arrives.”

“We have seen a good deal of interest in our products from individuals and auto repair shops in the past,” stated Stevens “but recently we have seen interest from the educational sector. Schools are starting to teach hydrogen modifications in auto shop which means that our children are already thinking about ways to preserve the environment and conserve resources by using HHO technology as a bridge to the future.”

Stevens quipped that the increased sales may also have to do with the number of products recently added to the company’s line. “Since the beginning of the year, we have added over 50 different products and still plan to introduce more once we work out the vendor logistics. We stock most parts needed to build or install a HHO system including the hard to find items like circuit breakers, relays, check valves and quick connects. And of course, we have the electrolyzers too.”
