Hall & Associates, Ltd., a prominent executive search and career consulting firm, announced the successful search process and placement of the position of CEO and President for the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association (GNMAA). Representing 810-member businesses, the GNMAA serves as the principal business development and community advocacy organization for Michigan Avenue and the surrounding area – an area known as The Magnificent Mile®. Upon notification in January 2009 of then-CEO John Maxson’s March retirement, the GNMAA search committee sought the expertise of Hall & Associates, Ltd. executive search firm to aide in its efforts to facilitate the search process.
The GNMAA’s 14-member search committee recognized early-on the need to seek an expert’s guidance. Deborah’s proven processes identified seven prospective candidates out of over 70 accomplished professionals nationally. As the lead facilitator, Deborah helped the committee maintain focus on key objectives, resulting in the successful appointment of John C. Chikow as President and CEO one month ahead of schedule. Chikow, a veteran association executive with strategic development expertise, who also has a long history of involvement with GNMAA, begins his new role on May 1, 2009.
