 WYBT is world renowned for giving young athletes a professional environment to compete against the best in their age range. Now it's also time to let the grown-ups play at the 11th Annual Spalding World Youth Basketball Tournament, in Kailua-Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii. August 1st, - August 5th, (the tournament has boys and girls divisions ages 10 - high school) and now their first ever Mens Division, August 3rd - 5th, 2009.
Vice President of Macleem Sports Wear, Jay 'Boogie' Brantley, will be competing with his team, The Hooptainers . The Hooptainers are an established team ushering in the new era of basketball. The team consists of former professional players, playground basketball legends and celebrities that tour the world using their talents to positively affect as many lives as possible.
Jay Brantley has been called "King of Cali Streetball" by Slam Magazine. He has played on the And1 tour, played against the best in the country every summer at UCLA as a Magic Johnson All Star, played in the CBA, NBA summer league and the NBDL. He's shared the court with NBA players like Paul Pierce, Baron Davis, Jason Richardson, Sam Cassell and Derek Fisher. He is one of the best individual training coaches around. He currently does player development for college and professional players. As a added bonus he will run a clinic for participants.
