2009 Audi quattro Cup to be played in Houston, Texas

HOUSTON, TX –  The Houston Area Audi Dealers, which consists of Audi West Houston, Millennium Audi, and Momentum Audi, announced today that they plan to host the 2009 Audi quattro Cup at Blackhorse Golf Club on May 13, 2009.

The Audi quattro Cup golf tournament series was established in 1991. 51 tournaments with over 6.000 participating amateur golfers were held and organized by German Audi dealers. In 1992 Germany had a total of 70 tournaments and 7 more European countries participated with 62 additional tournaments. In 2008 Audi dealers from 52 different countries worldwide organized a total of 750 tournaments and over 86.000 amateur golfers participated at an Audi quattro Cup tournament.

The tournament organizers believe that golf gives Audi a chance to present itself in the Athletic spectrum. The athletic and dynamic Audi brand can then be presented to customers and potential buyers.

Since the first Audi quattro Cup World Final, played at The Belfry GC, the event has been played at such exotic locations as Los Olivos in Argentina, the K Club in Ireland or the Eldorado GC in Mexico. This year, thanks to the Houston Area Audi Dealers, Audi North America, and AUDI AG, Ingolstadt, Germany,  the World Final will be played in New South Wales Golf Club in Sydney, Australia from December 14 - 18, 2009.

This year's VIP event will be played at Blackhorse Golf Club on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 beginning at 12:30 pm. The format is two-man, Select Drive Alternate Shot (Greensome Stableford).
