"A Week Without Paper" Challenge begins on Earth Day

PR Log (Press Release) – Apr 22, 2009 – GO Paperless!™ (http://www.gopaperless.info) is announcing a month long challenge to begin on Earth Day, "A Week Without Paper".  It is a challenge to everyone to eliminate their use of paper in their office or home over a period of seven days and only use their mobile phone, PDA or laptop to share information.  

"The challenge is simple.  Can you go a week without using any paper in your home or your office without it effecting your productivity?" asks Haris Hassan, President of GO Paperless!™ .  "I haven't printed a piece of paper in 6 months and have reduced my paper consumption at home and the office to simply the receipts my accountant won't let me go without. "

GO Paperless!™ believes that if enough individual's can eliminate the paper habit on a daily basis, the impact on the global paper consumption would be substantial.   The challenge calls for each person to replace all sources of paper in their lives with other technology to share and request information.

"73% of Working Americans have access to the internet, an email address and a mobile phone so there is no reason why we can't combine all three to replace most of our paper transactions.  We all have the capability to switch to paperless and we just want to challenge people to try it for a week."  remarks Sonia Hassan, Vice President of GO Paperless!™.  

The 7-day Challenge

   1. Unplug your printer at home and at work
   
   2. Take all your sticky notes, agendas, files and notebooks and put them in a drawer
   
   3. Sign up for a Do Not Mail Campaign (Text "STOPJUNK + email" to 51051. Standard Rated)
   
   4. Say 'No' to the paper handed to you and ask for an email instead

At the end of the seven days you can share the story of removing paper in your life on the GO Paperless!™ Facebook Fan Page.
