A NIGHT IN GAZA – A NEW FICTION NOVEL FROM DANTE’S PUBLISHING
(SLOTTED FOR JUNE 2009)

There are no heated, steamy bedroom scenes in A Night in Gaza. No jealous women fighting. Yet between Dan and Agnes, there is enough melodrama and suspense to keep readers turning the pages to see what’s going to happen next. It is the scandal that threatens to shake the ministry of Dan Hayden and bring him to his knees, at the mercy of one woman—Agnes Addison.

Dan Hayden is a young, handsome pastor of the Southern Covenant Church. He’s married and has a beautiful wife and two adorable children. Recently, he has been preaching sermons outside of his church’s doctrine and his pastoral position is now being threatened. Agnes Addison is a graceful, beautiful and competent assistant to the bishop of the diocese. She’s prim and she’s proper. She quickly befriends the young Pastor Dan, who is preaching sermons about the Kingdom of God and the Gospel of Inclusion-- much to the dismay of the bishop.  What Dan thinks is an innocent friendship with the bishop’s attractive assistant explodes into a scandalous affair.

A Night in Gaza allows us to see a moral dilemma in the realities of weakness that can be found in all of us, as well as ministers. In the end, the book leaves us to question our own choices, our own sense of integrity. While we see miracles, redemption and restoration, we’re left wondering whether one night in Gaza is worth the gamble.

Don Paulk is the author of I Laugh, I Cry and Still Laughing… Still Crying…The Sequel.  A Night in Gaza is his first fiction novel. Don is a founding pastor of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Decatur Georgia, where his son D.E. Paulk is now senior pastor.  Don is retired and still lives in Decatur with his wife, Clariece. He spends his time now doing the things he loves … writing, being with his family, and enjoying his hobbies and animals. He is working on his second novel.
