Sarasota, FL: In Sarasota, life’s always a day at the beach. When Camp Bow Wow opens it’s doors to campers on Friday, May 1st, Sarasota’s puppy parents can spend a day at the beach, run errands, head off to work, or fly-off for a week out of town secure in their knowledge that their pups are well cared for at the country’s premier doggy day care and overnight camp. The upscale facility at 2101 17th Street treats all campers to fun-filled days of play, private cabins and lots of personal attention.
All campers are required to participate in a free interview day at camp before they can attend. The interview day is designed to give the staff an opportunity to get to know prospective campers on a first name basis, to observe his or her temperament and how well they interact with other dogs. “One of the things we personally liked about Camp Bow Wow, is that the pups spend most of the day in one of the play yards where they’re encouraged to socialize.” said Bill Starck, the owner and leader-of-the-

Campers at Camp Bow Wow® are supervised by a staff of Certified Camp Counselors® trained in pet CPR and first aid, dog behavior, safety and health management. To ensure the happiness and safety of all campers, the camp will be staffed with 1 counselor for every 15 campers at all times. Proud puppy parents can look in on their campers by logging on to the Camp Bow Wow Sarasota website to watch the real-time Camp activities broadcast by one of many the Camper Cams® installed around the camp.
Sarasota Camp owner Starck and his wife Dana recently moved their young family to Sarasota to be closer to her parents, who’ve lived in area for over a decade. The couple decided to make a change in their lifestyle when Dana survived Breast Cancer. “Our experience changed our perspectives on life,” said Bill. “It made us realize that we should be doing something we love, not working just to work.” Dana was a teacher and Bill managed his family’s heating and air conditioning company in Illinois. “Both of us grew up around animals and have always had dogs in our lives. In fact, we used to take our own dogs to the Camp Bow Wow in McHenry, IL when we traveled.” Starck’s mother-in-law suggested they open a Camp in Sarasota after checking in on their dogs through the Camp Bow Wow McHenry camper cams.
The Camp plans to work with local animal protection and rescue groups to foster dogs for adoption. For more information about Camp Bow Wow of Sarasota, to make a reservation and to schedule an interview day at camp, please call 941.366.CAMP (2267) or visit www.campbowwow.com/
