PITTSBURGH, April 21 -- Students, faculty and staff from The Art Institutes schools will take on special community service projects that will promote goodwill and valuable support to the communities where they reside during National Week of Service April 19 - 25, 2009.
Participating in the National Week of Service is a natural extension of the rich tradition of community service that The Art Institutes schools engage in throughout the year. The goal is to participate in public service projects that will impact and improve communities where The Art Institutes schools are located.
Students, faculty and staff at participating Art Institutes schools will engage in activities that range from food drives to collaborations with community centers to blood drives to tree planting to mural painting to city beautification projects to creating marketing materials for nonprofit organizations to collaborating with homeless shelters to collecting art supplies for children's hospitals and much more.
"Taking part in the National Week of Service is in stride with our goals to serve the communities where we live and work and provide a quality education to all of our students," said John Mazzoni, President of The Art Institutes. "This is a great opportunity for students, faculty and staff to give back to their communities. We are excited to participate in the National Week of Service and continue our tradition of community outreach throughout the year."
