1. Purchase a Berkeley-Darfur Stove: the fuel savings from each stove helps the Darfur region to recover from environmental degradation.
2. Use reusable totes for groceries: The Darfur Stoves Project has canvas totes in 10 different cool designs – you get to help the earth, support women in Darfur and be eco-chic while doing both.
3. Bring your own mug to your local coffee shop: The United States uses an estimated 16 billion paper coffee cups every year. Do your part by using a reusable mug. The Darfur Stoves Project has several styles of mugs and tumblers with almost a dozen designs to help end your paper cup addiction.
4. Help support a DSP assembly facility: The Darfur Stoves Project, with its partners, builds fuel-efficient stove assembly facilities in Darfur. These assembly facilities provide much needs jobs in Darfur while producing a very green product, the Berkeley-Darfur Stove.
5. Organize a carpool fundraiser: Organize a carpool for work and donate 50% of the gas savings to the Darfur Stoves Project. You’ll save money, help the earth, gets stoves to women who need them and get to spend time with your friends from work.
6. Wear organic clothing: Organic clothing is better for the earth – what better investment on Earth Day than a cool organic t-shirt that supports a worthy organization?
7. Tell a friend: Spread the word about Darfur Stoves Project. By increasing the number of people who know about Darfur Stoves Project’s work you increase donation opportunities – which means you’ve increased the number of stoves built, the amount of women helped and the benefit to the earth.
