The most popular products that consumers buy online are Home Care Products, Computer & Electronics, Cloth & Accessories and Stationary. Thus, traditional grocery goods such as Cooked Food, Drinks and Fresh Goods have far less popularity.
Among all websites, Taobao is by far the most popular destination for consumers to make online purchase.
C to C platform (i.e., Taobao) is still dominating the online market; however, as online commerce matures in China, consumers are now looking for higher quality and fully packaged goods (including after-sales service). Now is great time for companies to establish its own online stores because the time is ripe for ecommerce to blossom in China.
