Mount Aloysius College Expands Reach with New Online Programs

PR Log (Press Release) – Apr 20, 2009 – Cresson, PA - Responding to individual and community educational needs is the core mission of Mount Aloysius College. In an effort to uphold its current mission in today's Internet-driven world, Mount Aloysius College is enhancing its core liberal arts curriculum by offering new online programs designed to meet the needs of traditional and nontraditional students who seek high-quality learning and convenience.

In 2008, Mount Aloysius partnered with The Learning House, Inc. (TLH), a comprehensive online education solutions partner located in Louisville, KY, to develop its online programs. Together, Mount Aloysius and TLH are working to create a complete online campus environment, with such features as customized course content, 24/7 technical support and other various academic resources. This partnership allows Mount Aloysius to successfully launch high-value online courses and degree programs without sacrificing its on-campus resources.

Beginning in summer 2009, Mount Aloysius College will offer a series of online general education courses designed to meet the increasing demand for convenient learning on-campus and beyond. Currently, Mount Aloysius students can only take summer classes on-campus. The online courses will allow off-campus students to advance their education and accumulate college credit hours, while spending time with their family and friends during the summer break.

Mount Aloysius will continue to expand its online offerings by launching a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree completion program in fall 2009. The program will cater to adult students who are interested in finishing their degree without the constraints of a traditional classroom. Students who enroll in this program must have earned an associate's degree or approximately 60 hours of transferable college credit.

With more than 50 programs of study, Mount Aloysius is dedicated to providing students with a quality liberal arts education. Online education enables Mount Aloysius to spread its mission of delivering quality education and commitment to its students, the extended community and well beyond Cresson, PA.
