Laser Safety Industries (LSI), Minneapolis, MN – March 5, 2009, – On March 1, 2009, LSI raised the standard for the laser safety products by offering custom permanently marking on their laser glasses and laser goggles. LSI uses a high-definition engraving machine which permanently mark on glass, polycarbonate and acrylic, preserving the clarity of the optical density (OD) or CE. Engraved markings last longer than traditional printing. Marking laser safety products this way ensures that crucial information will not scratch off or rub away. This marking system exceeds the ANSI standards for marking laser protective eyewear in the US and meets CE requirements.
Custom permanently marking laser safety glasses and goggles can make them easier for laser users to work with by clearly displaying the protection levels of the glasses, or goggles, and important custom information that the Laser Safety Officers (LSO, CLSO), or customer, feels should be on the eyewear.
Custom permanent marking on laser glasses can be put on both the laser glasses’ frame and the lens depending of the frame type.
Customization can include, but is not limited, the following: Laser the glasses that are to be used with a particular laser, e.g. LASER NAME 755 nm; A lab or room number that the laser glasses belong in, e.g. FOR USE IN LAB 21B; Organization, business, or institutional name, e.g. UNIVERSITY OF MN, DR. JOHN SMITHS OFFICE.
LSI is currently the only laser safety glasses manufacturer that offers product customizing of laser glasses and laser goggles.
