Farming Biodiesel Inc is currently in negotiations to purchase 15,000 acres in Colombia to plant Jatropha. The final details for the project are still on the table but after a very successful visit to Bogota, Farming Director Mike Reardon, says that things are moving along nicely. "Colombia is a great place to grow Jatropha. The natural environment is perfect for it" states Reardon. The new lands to be purchased are located just outside of Bogota in the department of Meta, Colombia where land is divided into 33 departments rather than states. Co-Op member Kenneth Susman of Los Amanaceres, a Jatropha plantation in Meta, is a respected doctor in California and an influential person in Colombia. Susman is responsible for the push into Colombia. He has also helped FBI to arrange several meetings with state officials and prominent businessmen during Reardon's visit. "The Colombian government can offer a lot of help for Jatropha farms and seems to be very happy about the technology and resources that we posses" states Reardon. Once fully planted, the Colombian plantation will have the capability of producing 15 million gallons of clean burning biofuel a year from Jatropha oil. For more info please visit http://fbifarms.com
