"Adding the new HP Scitex XP 5300 digital printer was very important to our sustainability efforts," says Marco Perez, director of marketing for Point Imaging. "The 5300 utilizes UV curable ink technology, which eliminates harmful VOCs. It also prints to lighter weight media such as polyethylene, paper, recyclable Tyvek and others."
The 5300 has a maximum dpi of 360 and uses two sets of 4-color inks. One set is for standard hi-quality printing and the other set is for billboard mode. The printer can print at speeds in excess of 3200 sq. ft. per hour, making it one of the quickest machines in the industry. The HP inks have a two year outdoor fade and water resistance.
With the elimination of harmful VOCs and the ability to print digitally on lighter weight material, the new HP Scitex XP 5300 is one of the most eco-considered printers available. "We are excited to be bringing yet another eco-sustainable printing platform to our line of printers," says Perez.
