Mimi Rothschild of Learning By Grace Encourages Parents to Follow their ‘Calling’

April 19, 2009 - PRLog -- With the continued moral decline in our nation’s public school system, many faith-based families are opting to homeschool their children and educate them from a Christ-centered perspective. The rise in homeschooling in recent years is attributed to parents wanting to invest in their childrens’ future and separate them from the negative peer influences that are so prevalent today.

With this in mind, Mimi Rothschild, co-founder of Learning By Grace, is encouraging parents who are contemplating homeschooling to take action and follow the potential call that God has placed on their lives.

“There is no greater calling in life than being a full-time parent,” said Mimi Rothschild, a homeschooling veteran and mother of eight children.

“Time and time again, we see people step out in faith and answer that call -- not only becoming full-time parents, but also opting to homeschool their children as well,” Rothschild added.

Mimi Rothschild is hoping more parents will follow that trend.

With the removal of prayer in public schools, the absence of creationism in textbooks and socialization that is void of God’s truths, Rothschild is advocating for more parents to take a proactive role in the education and development of their own children.

“I often hear people say they don’t know what God’s will is for their lives,” noted Rothschild. “For many, it’s quite possible that God’s calling is right in front of them as a parent.”

Mimi Rothschild said there is often a trade-off when one decides to homeschool. In the end, parents always note that their decision was worth the sacrifice.

“I’ve never heard a parent say they wished they spent more time at the office,” she said.

“I urge parents who have been considering homeschooling their children to learn more and prayerfully consider if that is the path they are truly meant to take. Many times, they will learn that it is.”
