By: Turtle Love Press Now, Steamy can proudly state he is a participating member of the local creative community, as well. He has recently signed with both Adornments gallery in Franklin, and New Earth Center in Hendersonville to display and sell his works publicly for the first time in his long career. Steamy is happy to be affiliated with Adornments and New Earth Center, and is looking forward to developing symbiotic relationships with added businesses and individuals in the near future. In fact, he is already in talks with another local gallery expected to represent his paintings. He is confident great things are sure to happen for everyone and is delighted to have his art where people can see it up close. Steamy strives for the highest quality. For example, when producing a Viking-style mead horn, much effort and time is spent on research and execution to ensure the culturally significant piece is true to tradition in material, design, and appearance. While each horn is an original design, and not an exact replica of an existing piece or reference, they all share an air of authenticity. The same amount of planning and skill goes into Mr. Raimon’s graphics and cartoons. Color selection, planned design, and expert control of a master are evident in all his works. The sense of humor in his cartoons can delight or challenge, or both at the same time. There are two mead horns currently showing and for sale at Adornments. One is an exceptionally large mead horn with leather strap and copper fittings. The natural Scandanavian bull horn is interlaced by the Midgard serpent of Norse lore and bears the saying “Drink With the Gods” in both Elder Futhark rune language and English. The second is a ram’s horn dedicated to gods Odin and Tyr. The eerie look of the horn matches the purpose for which it was made – a ceremonial horn for gothis and vitkis to conduct shamanic rituals. These are quite amazing pieces and definitely worth a visit. Here is your chance to see, and maybe own, a mead horn similar to ones the Vikings used.
