Food, consumer electronics, light bulbs, cigarettes, clothing, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, cars and auto parts, precursor chemicals for drug production, the list goes on and on. The FBI estimates that cargo theft cost anywhere from $15 to $30 billion and the average freight on a trailer was worth anywhere from $12,000 to $3 million.  The total worldwide theft of cargo approaches $50 billion according to Freightwatch International Group.  In addition, the American Association of Port Authorities estimated that there are $60 billion of in-direct costs that are associated with cargo theft.
