April 17, 2009 - PRLog -- Open source innovator and Snort® creator, Sourcefire®, Inc. , a leader in real-time adaptive network security, today announced that the Sourcefire 3D® System will now be offered by Symantec Corp. to be bundled as part of the Symantec Managed Security Services offering. This agreement brings together the industry’s leading intrusion prevention system (http://www.sourcefire.com/solutions/etm/ips) and one of the world’s leading managed security services organizations.

Through this partnership, Sourcefire is leasing the Sourcefire 3D System appliances to Symantec Managed Services’ customers with Symantec taking responsibility for deploying, monitoring and managing all equipment within the customer environments. Symantec users can now lease Sourcefire IPS appliances as part of their existing Symantec agreement. All Sourcefire solutions adhere to Symantec’s strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring timely delivery and the highest levels of support.
