Through this partnership, Sourcefire is leasing the Sourcefire 3D System appliances to Symantec Managed Services’ customers with Symantec taking responsibility for deploying, monitoring and managing all equipment within the customer environments. Symantec users can now lease Sourcefire IPS appliances as part of their existing Symantec agreement. All Sourcefire solutions adhere to Symantec’s strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring timely delivery and the highest levels of support.

In addition to Sourcefire’s leading Snort-based IPS technology, Sourcefire is also announcing that Symantec will host the Sourcefire Defense Center® for smaller customers. The Sourcefire Defense Center unifies critical network security functions including event monitoring, forensic analysis, and reporting. Symantec will leverage the Defense Center to correlate security events with characteristics of the target devices and prioritize security events based on real business impact.
