Nominations Now Open for the 2009 ULI Atlanta Development of Excellence Awards

Awards program honors real estate legends and outstanding real estate projects

April 17, 2009 - PRLog -- ULI Atlanta is pleased to announce the call for entries for the 2009 Development of Excellence, Dan Sweat and Frank Carter Awards. This awards program recognizes outstanding real estate developments across the Southeast. ULI is accepting nominations for awards in four categories relating to exceptional performance in real estate development. These awards are the Project of the Year, the Sustainable Development Award, the Frank Carter Community Achievement Award and the Dan Sweat Community Leadership Award. Entries must be received by May 5, 2009.  

The Project of the Year Award as well as Development of Excellence recognition will be presented to projects that are exceptional examples of good development by exemplifying the ULI mission of providing leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities.

Past project award winners include Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, Serenbe; Viridian, and Glenwood Park. Previous Frank Carter award receipients include Harold Dawson, Sr., Greg Gregory, Bernie Marcus and Charlie Brown. Past Dan Sweat award winners include Carl Patton, Wayne Clough, Hattie Dorsey, John and Helen Aderhold, Mayor Sam Massell Sam Williams and Ron Terwilliger.  Details of past award winners are listed at http://www.uliatlantaawards.com/award-archives/.

All awards will be presented at the ULI Atlanta District’s Annual Awards Dinner, scheduled for September 24, 2009 at the Georgia Aquarium.  

As a district council of the Urban Land Institute, ULI Atlanta advances responsible land use policy and real estate development practice throughout the state of Georgia. The nonprofit group is supported by its members.  They examine land use issues, impartially report their findings and convene forums to find solutions to complex land use problems.
