The Million Model Catwalk campaign run by Breakthrough Breast Cancer lets participants upload photos of themselves modelling the latest fashions from the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer range.
It’s a tailor-made opportunity for anyone who ever wondered what it would be like to become a model.
The campaign has also been supported by a large number of celebrities, who have leapt at the chance to try something different and become a model.
The participating celebrities include the Duchess of York, television presenter June Sarpong, model Abigail Clancy, Rolling Stones daughters Leah Wood and Jade Jagger, and radio personality Sara Cox.
Says Cox: “We all love to shop so why not buy something that looks good on you and makes you feel good at the same time! Come on girls - get on that catwalk today and strike a pose in support of Fashion Targets Breast Cancer!"
Thirty per cent of the price of purchases from the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer clothing range will be donated to beast cancer research. The campaign has raised over £9m for Breakthrough Breast Cancer since it began in 1996. Fashion Targets Breast Cancer was established in 1990 in the USA by Ralph Lauren.
Managing Director of nationwide modelling agency Models Direct Damian O’Connor sees the campaign as a brilliant opportunity for young people to try their hand at becoming a model while contributing to something of enormous community value.
“I think this is a really exciting and innovative campaign.” says O’Connor. “Fashion Targets Breast Cancer shows that the fashion industry can achieve great social outcomes. What’s more, the campaign provides a really brilliant opportunity for people to find out what a fun and rewarding experience a career in modelling can be.”
