http://www.prlog.org/10218378/1Let us tell you a brief history of the NAACP. A group of white and black citizens, outraged at the ongoing inhumane and disparate treatment of the "Negro" in America, founded the NAACP in New York on February 12, 1909. After a mob in Springfield, IL drove scores of African Americans into exile from their homes, wounding and killing many in the process, the activists came together to effect change.
We believe that silence means approval of wrong doings in any form to any person or group. The NAACP has led the fight for social justice for all Americans for nearly 100 years.
The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.
